Aerobic respiration has two major stages: the Kerbs cycle and the electron transport chain, which is associated with chemiosmosis. In the Kerbs cycle, the oxidation of glucose that began with glcolysis is completed. As glucose is oxidized NAD+ is reduced to NADPH. In the electron transport chain, NADPH is used to make ATP.
